Hey bloggerheads
Its your good ole friend joey page esquire. Its that magical, stressful and strangly beautiful time of the year where most people jet off on holiday whilst I put myself through a comedic boot camp in the pouring rain at the edinburgh festival. Ive brought my 3rd and best solo show to the fringe- mind you im bound to say that arent I (bloody showoff) either way its certainly my most charismatic and weird show of the three
This year though im all buisness I have been absolutley smashing trie out gigs at places like highlight and paid spots at my local club Komedia in Brighton only to be told that despite amazing reaction from audiences- I cannot play there again because the owners do not like my style and are too stale minded to take a risk.
SO I have decided to baton down the hatches and try and start a revolution of surreal exciting comedy- trying to evoke the spirit of the alternative scene in the 80's. Im starting with my hour l ong surreal show at the festival for which you can buy tickets here- if you cant make it please tweet, facebook, phone, page, smoke signal anyone you can think of who may be tired of slick, observational comedy and would like to try something else.
Having said that I think they are starting to listen as I sold out for the first time in my career yesterday which is an absolute dream for me- which is just as well because if they dont I will be starting an alternative comedy revolution.
